A 26-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years in prison on February 16 for killing an 85-year-old man and injuring three others with his car in December 2015, the District Attorney's office says.

Ah Jung and three friends were headed west on Highway 6 through Clear Creek Canyon on Dec. 13, 2015, on their way to the Black Hawk casinos, the First Judicial District Attorney says in a news release.

They'd been drinking at a friend's house in Aurora before their trip. Jung, drunk, lost control of the car and slid into oncoming traffic, the DA says.

Karen Hanson, 78, was driving in the opposite direction and couldn't stop in time, slamming into Jung's car. 85-year-old Howard Hanson died after the crash. Karen Hanson was seriously injured. Howard Hanson held on until January 12, 2016 before succumbing to his significant injuries, the DA says.

In December 2017, a jury found Jung guilty of vehicular homicide-DUI, four counts of vehicular assault-DUI and DUI, according to the DA. His BAC was .22, almost three times the legal limit.
