We all know that Colorado has the best beer scene in the country, but now is the time to prove it.

Twenty American cities are in the running to be declared the best beer scene in the nation. Our sister newspaper USA TODAY is hosting a live poll as part of their 10Best series.

Denver and Fort Collins are among the cities in the running for the prestigious honor.

The list was determined by a panel of "beer experts" who considered established and up-and-coming breweries, beer bars, brewpubs and locations where home-brew enthusiasts can thrive.

Voting ends Monday, March 19 at 10 a.m. MT.

Colorado breweries New Belgium Brewing Company, Odell Brewing Co., Great Divide Brewing, Avery Brewing Company, Left Hand Brewing, which were once only locally-known, are now national favorites.

And don't forget Colorado is also home to nationally-recognized festivals such as the Great American Beer Festival, Colorado Brewers' Festival, Brewers Rendezvous and Blues & Brews Festival.
